Water sports
For those who want a break from the day loungers, Almanara’s activities on Diani Beach include snorkelling, kite surfing, and scuba diving around the local coral reefs. Kite Surfing and Windsurfing is available at the SurfLeo Water Sports Centre, located within the Almanara in association with H20 Extreme & Kenyaways. Our top class IKO certified instructors are always looking sign up a new student, or can simply assist you in choosing your rental gear. If you fancy a spot of snorkelling you can grab snorkelling gear from our surf school and head on out to the reef which is around half a kilometre off shore. If the swim seems a little much, jump on board Almanara’s “Ngalawa” (the locals hand crafted sailing boat) and head out to the sand islands that emerge out of the turquoise waters at low tide. Stand Up Paddle boarding is also available.

Sails Beach Bar and Restaurant
Sails Beach Bar and Restaurant is located on the beach front within Almanara, and is open to both guests and the public creating a vibrant ‘local’ atmosphere, so popular Sails is the No.1 restaurant in the Diani Beach area on Trip Advisor.

Cloud Nine Spa
Cloud Nine is Almanara’s very own Health & Beauty Spa offering guests a variety of treatments ranging from massage, reflexology and facials which can take place at the spa or in the comfort of your own villa or room. Yoga and Pilates are run daily around Diani and can be arranged for Almanara guests by Cloud Nine.

The nearest airports to Almanara are Ukunda airstrip (15 minutes), Mombasa International Airport (2 hours).

Almanara is an ideal base for those who want to unwind post- safari, with daily flights into the local Ukunda airstrip from both Tsavo National Park and the hugely popular Masai Mara Game Reserve. 

Being only metres away from Diani Beach means there is a plethora of underwater wildlife a stone’s throw away. Water sports equipment (SUP’s, Snorkels, Body boards etc.) is available to guests for free, meaning you can explore with ease. You can often see pods of dolphins or Whales (June-December) on Dolphin/Whale watching excursions and we have five species of turtle relaxing on our vibrant coral reef.
