Intro
Highlights
Amanzi is a new rustic yet luxurious new tented camp, designed to blend in with the African surroundings.
Located approximately 2 km’s downstream from Anabezi, the 4 tent camp is intimately set on a ridge above the banks of the Ngwenya channel, on the Zambezi River.
Need To Know
Amanzi is Anabezi’s sister camp open for those travellers who prefer a more rustic, private setting.
Safaris
The lodge has been well equipped, boasting new vehicles which have been fitted specifically to accommodate 4 guests comfortably. Our boat cruises on the scenic Zambezi River are a very relaxing way to view and learn about the animals that spend a lot of time by the water. The Zambezi River is also famous for the most spectacular fresh water fishing in the world. Tigerfish, a relative of the infamous piranha prove an exciting catch for any fisherman - either complete novice or piscine professional. These viscious predators can grow to 15kg/33lb and are certainly a prize to behold. The best time to catch Tigerfish is between September and November.
Wildlife
Wildlife viewing is unparalleled and the guides at all the lodges are well-trained by Conservation Lower Zambezi. Predators to be seen are lion, leopard, wild dog, and hyena. Antelopes include Waterbuck, Impala, Kudu, and Puku. In addition to larger game, smaller mammals include aardvark, honey badger, porcupine, and even occasionally pangolin! African buffalo and elephant are an ever-present fixture of the landscape, crossing the river in larger herds.
