What makes our lodge particularly special is that we offer accommodation in a luxury cave. This is an accommodation unit built under a rock. Glass doors open onto a wooden deck with hammock chairs and a spectacular view of the Drakensberg Mountains. This is a luxury eco experience. The cave is cozy and comfortable with features like a Jacuzzi spa bath and a fireplace and even has rock art on its walls. We also offer a private dining experience where we setup a table on the deck of your cave and you dine by candlelight under the stars. And guys if you cant get her to say yes here she is just not going to say it

Sustainability and responsible tourism are a huge part of the ethos of our lodge. And we try to do just about everything ourselves. It starts with our alternative structures and ends with the cheese on your breakfast table. Every single piece of furniture is made here at the lodge by ourselves. The furniture is artistic and inspiring.  We have created huge mosaics, whimsical stain glass windows and even our own wooden hinges. People listen to me. The woodwork alone makes this lodge a destination in its own right.
 

Directions to Antbear Lodge for Johannesburg. Exit N3 at 2nd Escourt  tun off (175) signposted Wembezi. Turn right and cross over the N3. After 500 meters turn left onto a dirt road signposted Zulu waters / moor park. travel for approx 8 km. At the Y junction take the left fork signposted Zulu Waters / Moor Park. Continue on this road for 15km. The lodge is on the left signposted Antbear Guest House 5 km after you cross the metal bridge. Drive up the farm road for 2 km

Directions to Antbear Lodge for Durban. Travel along the N3. Take the off ramp 152 between Estcourt and Mooi River. Travel in the direction of Hidcote. After 7 km you will encounter a T-junction. Turn right towards Giants Castle. After 14 km turn right towards Moor Park onto a dirt road. After 5.3 Km you will pass a right hand turn off called “The Rise”. 300 meters passed this road is the farm entrance on the right signposted Anberar Guest House.  Antbear Lodge is 2km along the farm road up the hill and is the thatched cottages that you can see from the road.
 

Antbear Lodge is a sustainable agritourism product and does not offer safaris itself. However Guests have the option to participate in game drives at Zulu Waters, horse trails in the game reserve, vulchre hide at Giants Castle as well as microlight flying safaris over the game reserve.
