Intro

Nestled in the highlands of Nyika National Park, Chelinda Lodge is a 16-bedded exclusive classic camp that lies against a magnificent backdrop of towering pine trees. The lodge offers lavish and spacious log cabins all with sweeping views of woodland patches, rolling plains and montane grasslands, which are often dotted with herds of antelope. A pocket of hagenia woodland and forest, perfectly shelters this idyllic upland camp.

Wildlife

Often seen roaming the park’s rolling hills and grasslands are its resident herds of roan, eland, Crawshay’s zebra, Burchell’s zebra, southern reedbuck and bushbuck. Nighttime game includes predators such as spotted hyena, serval cats and side-striped jackal. The park’s elusive leopards are a key wildlife highlight and elephant can be seen at times. Birdlife is prolific with over 425 species inhabiting the plateau.

Accommodation

Accommodation comprises eight warm cabin-styled chalets made of stone and pine. Each chalet is fitted with a fireplace, en-suite bathroom and an upstairs seating area with a viewing deck. Two chalets are joined to form an interconnected family unit. Elevated wooden walkways link the cabins to the inviting main building, complete with an outside deck for sundowners and a lounge area for quiet reflection or conversation. Meals can be enjoyed in the spacious main lounge or on the grand outdoor deck that overlooks the grasslands.
