Wildlife
Welgevonden is home to the "big five" - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino. This malaria-free reserve has many species of antelope, zebra, giraffe, baboon, hyena and other fauna foraging on planes and verdant slopes, while perennial waters hide crocodile and offers sustenance to a huge variety of birds.

The romantic bathrooms open onto a private courtyard and have both indoor and outdoor showers.Each suite has it's private view of the open plains that stretch out in front of the lodge.
Season
Summer stretches from October through to April with lovely hot summer days and warm nights. Afternoon thunderstorms are common.
Winter months are from May to August. Days are beautifully warm with cold, crisp mornings and evenings. Warm clothing is required for game drives.
