Internationally renowned for the greatest wildlife spectacle on the planet, The Serengeti National Park located in north west Tanzania is the ultimate ‘wildlife show’ on earth. Across the globe authors and filmmakers have come to document the Annual Migration of hundreds of thousands of animals, but there is still only one way to understand and experience the true magnificence of this natural phenomena and that is to be part of it.

Serengeti Migration Camp is uniquely located in a secluded idyll of north central Serengeti on the route of the great migration. From April to early June, and again from late October to November, guests can enjoy a “private migration”, with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest dotting the landscape from horizon to horizon.

Serengeti Migration Camp is the embodiment of the ‘camp’ experience. Located next to the famous Grumeti River which is home to resident hippos that bark and wallow their days away, Serengeti Migration Camp has become synonymous with low-impact high-action game viewing in a landscape that is untouched since the dawn of time.

The Camp has easy access to the Masai Mara National Reserve, and you are able to do a day trip with the hope of catching a thrilling river crossing.

Serengeti being the home to the Big 5, it is particularly noteworthy for seeing black rhinos in their natural habitat.

 Near to camp, along the Grumeti River, are numerous pools with resident hippo. A wonderful sound of the African bush, the hippos can be heard from camp and also visited on a bush walk along the river.

We can arrange balloon safaris as well as guided walks in the environs of the camp. Migration camp lies on the famed Grumeti river which itself plays a vital role on the annual migration of over 2 million animals.

Migration Camp can arrange daily game drives in the Serengeti with our own highly qualified guides, as well as guided game walksin the environs of the camp. Details of safaris are determined by each guest. Hald day and full day safaris are available provided by our own guides and in our own vehicles. Packed lunches are available but also bush lunch experiences are also available. The latter includes a bespoke dining experience with our own chef providing not only a delicious array of freshly prepared dishes, but all set in a private and intimate location.

A million wildebeest... each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 mile) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.

This area of the Serengeti offers fantastic game viewing with the chance to see the ‘Big 5’ as well as abundant other wildlife. For birders, over 500 species of birds have been recorded in the area.  Serengeti Migration Camp offers enviable game viewing opportunities all year round.
