Set in the stunning Laikipia region, in the foothills of Mount Kenya, lies an authentic farmstead, Olepangi Farm, home of GoWild Africa safaris, which provides horse-riding, walking and driving safaris into the Lolldaiga Hills. This area is considered by many to be the most beautiful in the whole of Kenya, with breath-taking scenery and abundant wildlife and best of all, very few tourists due to its historic isolation. This magic, forgotten land awaits you. Ride, walk and drive amongst herds of zebra, impala, eland, gazelles and hartebeest. Come almost within touching distance of the many reticulated giraffe and slowly approach a herd of elephant or buffalo. Witness the rock art of the ancient peoples and, if you are really lucky, you may even stumble upon a pride of lion or track down a leopard, even find wild dogs out hunting! The horses are mostly a mix of thoroughbreds and polo ponies with a couple of local breeds thrown in for good measure, all responsive and good-natured as well as sure-footed and accustomed to game. Both set-date flycamps within the reserve and farm stays at the ranch are available so there really is something for everybody; if you want to do the safari but do not want to camp it is also possible to stay at the Lolldaiga Farmhouse within the reserve. With a maximum group size of 8 the atmosphere is personal and the hosting genuinely welcoming.

Intro
Highlights
Family owned and operated, our safaris are small, personal, fully hosted with a relaxed atmosphere. Olepangi Farm is in the perfect location to explore everything Laikipia has to offer and encourages guests to do far more than just morning and evening game drives. Whether it is climbing Mt Kenya or swimming in the blue pools of Ngare Ndare forest there is always plenty to do. When on safari in Lolldaiga Hills Ranch we can offer horse riding, walking and game drives meaning there is something for everyone.
Need To Know
Olepangi Farm is the home of the Lucy Family, long-term residents of Kenya. Originally the land was separated into many different plots of farm land and was tired and overgrazed. Today the farm is a total of 120 acres and the land has been lovingly restored back to its former glory. A massive tree planting project was launched with over 2,500 trees being planted in the first year. All of the furniture in the lodge is from a personal collection of antiques accumulated over 30 years of travelling all over the world. In every room you will find indigenous textiles, quirky antique furniture and beautiful objects d’art.
Safaris
We have 14 well schooled and responsive safari horses, some suitable for nervous riders and some with a bit more bounce ready to jump some of the many fallen logs in Lolldaigas. We tailor rides to the ability of the group but do require guests to be completely comfortable in all paces. We also welcome non riders and have both walking and 4x4 safari options. Game drives are taken in an open sided Landcruiser and walks are always accompanied by and armed ranger. Our guides are knowledgeable, fun and engaging.
Wildlife
Lolldaiga Ranch is part of a large patchwork of privately owned land where fences have been taken down to open up a vast area of bush protected and preserved for wildlife. Game is free to move through this area. We ride among large herds of elephant, reticulated giraffe (only found in Northern Kenya), zebra, oyrx, eland, and many other antelope. We also see lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah, stripped hyena, bat eared foxes and on the last trip a civet cat. For large herds of elephant June - October is the best time to visit.
