Intro
Situated within a private concession in the Kruger National Park, Hamilton's Tented Camp reflects a safari adventure of the early twentieth century, where grace and style were the epitome of luxurious living.
Highlights
This luxury safari camp situated within the 10 000 ha in central Kruger is the first of the Kruger concessions to implement an entirely “green†philosophy to power. In the past the lodge has used a generator for electricity due to the remoteness of their location.
The use of solar energy will reduce their carbon foot print substantially and is part of an ongoing strategy to “step lightly†in this pristine wilderness area.
Need To Know
Six magnificent canvas tents complete with teak floorboards, dreamy mosquito nets, slipper baths, outdoor showers and a superb view of the seasonal river are linked to the main lodge area by raised timber walkways amongst ancient Jackalberry trees.
Safaris
Guests can enjoy a morning and afternoon safari in open 4 x 4 vehicles. Two daily game drives.
During the winter months the morning safaris depart at 06h00 and the afternoon safaris depart at 16h00
In summer the times change to 05h00 for the morning and 17h00 for the afternoon safaris.
Tea and coffee is served before the morning safari departs and in the afternoon you will enjoy high tea before setting off.

Wildlife
Hamiltons is situated within the Kruger national Park which boasts one of the most diverse game viewing experiences in South Africa and is home to an estimated 1,500 lions, 12,000 elephants, 2,500 buffalos, 1,000 leopards and 5,000 rhinos (black & white).
Hamiltons Tented Camp is fortunately in a high leopard density area and sightings are frequent. Spotting the tawny-yellow body with black rosette spots, as it blends in perfectly into its surrounds is a definite highlight of any nocturnal safari.
