Intro
“If you can spend a perfectly useless afternoon in a perfectly useless manner, you have learned how to live.†Lin Yutang (1895 – 1976) Hog Hollow Country Lodge, is set on the edge of indigenous forest with breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and Tsitsikamma Mountains. Superb breakfasts are served out on the boma deck in the warmth of the morning sun, or inside by the fire on chillier days, while our scrumptious communal dinners are served in the conviviality of the candle-lit main house.

Need To Know
Situated 18km East of the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay - guests do need to therefore have their own transportation. As Hog Hollow is set on the edge of a gorge, it is not wheelchair friendly. Malaria free

Wildlife
Birdlife: an ornithologist's survey on Hog Hollow's reserve alone, spotted 57 different species. Wildlife: Vervet Monkeys, Baboons, Bushpig, Buck, Porcupine, Tortoise, Leopard (rare) Sealife: Seals, Otters, Bryde’s (they live in the bay), Humpback, Southern Right and Killer whales seasonally. Approximately 2000 dolphins in the bay all year round.

Child Policy
we accept children of all ages. There are three rooms we use for families which are double story: upstairs is the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Then downstairs in the lounge is a double sleeper couch and an ottoman, slightly shorter than standard beds, but wider. These are made up in the evening for the children. 2 children aged 12 and under can be accommodated this way.
Accommodation
16 suites, situated in the gardens overlooking the Tsitsikamma Mountains and indigenous forest. Each room has a bedroom with kingsize bed (which can be twin bedded if preferred), a lounge area, en-suite bathroom (separate bath & shower). French doors lead out onto a private wooden balcony, just perfect to while away those balmy sunny days. The Villa @ Hog Hollow is is situated 400m from the main lodge on our private nature reserve, with breathtaking views over the indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest and Mountains. This three bedroomed house is suitable for a family of 6 or 2 couples travelling together. Private pool & games room.
