Highlights
Areas visited Botswana offers a whole range of wildlife & cultural destinations. Not only the world famous Okavango Delta is worth a visit but certainly also the Kalahari and Kgalagadi reserves offer superb game-viewing. Discovering the skills of the Bushman or gliding over a water lily covered lagoon in a mokoro are also well worth experiencing. The biggest concentration of elephants in the world is found along the Chobe river in the North of the country.

Accommodation
Hemingway Safaris organizes mobile tented safaris but can also offer lodge-to-lodge safaris. Clients are accommodated in spacious 3x3 m tents or 4.7 m long en-suite Meru style tents with camp beds and bedding. No participation is required and clients are fully catered for: 3 full meals a day are provided and all drinks are included.
Accolades
The reason why we offer mostly mobile tented safaris is that no lodge can offer the "close-to-nature" feeling a tented camp provides: the animals visiting the camps, the sounds and smells of the bush, the sitting around the campfire in the middle of the bush with no neighbors, etc
Season
Our safaris run throughout the year but we offer a 10% discount for trips during our green season which runs from 15 November till 15 March: this is when the nature is at it's most beautiful but as many see this as "rainy season" it is largely ignored Facts: Botswana’s “rainy season”, or more accurately the summer or green season, people can expect a great blue sky in the mornings, getting cloudy around noon and by late afternoon some localized showers begin forming. These outbursts are mostly “localized” and you can expect roughly a one hour shower about twice a week. The nights are warm (20 to 28 degrees C) and during the day temperatures normally hang around 35 degrees with some days getting exceptionally warm, up to 40 degrees C. A nice shower brings the temperature back down to a comfortable level. Advantages: Gone is the dust, this is the time when the young animals are born, where there is abundant food and water for the animals and where photographers get the best contrasts: a yellow lion on green grass with a dark-blue sky behind: whaahw !!! Migrant birds (25 % of all bird species in Botswana) are around and birdsongs are at their best during this nesting period. The landscapes and sundowners are superb, huge clouds giving stunning reflections and special effects to pictures. Most people are not aware that this is such a unique period for visiting Botswana, which means that there are hardly any other visitors in the parks: no vehicles around to disturb a sighting, a splendid feeling of how Africa was in “the good old days”. (just avoid from 15/12 to 10/1 as this is when we have South African school holidays )
