KUBU LODGE
A small privately owned and run lodge of 11 comfortable thatched chalets on the bank of the Chobe River in Botswana’s warm tropical climate. The Botswana settlement of Kazungula has traditionally extended a warm welcome and hospitality to all its visitors and this tradition is proudly continued at Kubu Lodge (named after the Setswana word for hippo which abound in the river).
The lovely wooden chalets with en-suite bathrooms are set on stilts on shaded lawn beneath giant ebony and wild fig trees, and are fully serviced. Each chalet has tea/coffee making facilities, ceiling fan and mosquito nets. The bathrooms have shower, toilet, hand-basin and a hairdryer.
The Leatlhaba Restaurant provides breakfast, lunch and dinner daily for our guests, and is well known for its variety of European and African meals. There is also the Morubisi Bar available for the afternoon sundowner at the lounge outside on the restaurant verandah.
Other facilities include the reading lounge, curio shop and swimming pool. More than 100 different bird species can be seen in the area and the elusive Chobe Bushbuck is regularly seen on the Nature Trail on the property.
Activities offered are Game Drives and Boat Cruises into Chobe National Park, for an abundance of wild life and bird viewing. We also offer visits to the nearby World of Wildlife Centre and Crocodile Farm and Day Trips to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
