Old Mondoro is the Lower Zambezi's only luxury bush camp, providing its guests - many of them repeat visitors - with a top wildlife experience using best guides and equipment; guests receive a high level of comfort and most attentive, personalised service whilst enjoying a close to nature experience and respecting and sustaining the wildlife, habitat and local peoples of the Lower Zambezi.

Like its big sister, Chiawa Camp, Old Mondoro is family-owned and operated, achieving that rare, perfect blend of wild and comfort. With an average of two leopard sightings per day this is also the place to spot these elusive creatures.

Five canvas/reed chalets for eight guests with king size beds (or two twins), mosi-nets and Egyptian cotton. Each room has a shaded verandah, electric fan, indoor loo, indoor washbasin, outdoor shower and bath 'splash' tub, and 24/7 power. A 2-bedroom family unit is also available.

Driving, walking, boating and fishing. Led by top guides, guests have a full choice of safari activities including day and night game drives, walks (which are this camp's forte and amongst the very best available in Africa), motor boat game viewing and catch & release angling. Old Mondoro is in some of Africa’s finest walking country, incorporating open plains, towering woodland, game rich river islands and channels to explore.

Leopard and aardvark (80+ aardvark sightings in 2024!) are specialities, and elephant bulls are ever present in the camp. Buffalo, hyena, lion, kudu and waterbuck, serval, jackal, white tailed mongoose, honey badgers, porcupine and more.
