Intro
Porini Mara Camp is the only safari camp set in Ol Kinyei Conservancy – an exclusive 18700 acre wilderness set aside as a wildlife sanctuary with a wide variety of species including big cats.The area has open plains, forests, rivers and stunning views.
Game drives can also be taken in the nearby Maasai Mara National Reserve and the adjacent Naboisho Conservancy.
The award-winning Porini Mara Camp is located in a unique and beautiful setting under yellow-barked Acacia trees along the banks of the Laetoli. . The camp Chef uses fresh ingredients to prepare high quality meals and even home-baked bread. Porini Mara Camp is fully-inclusive of meals, drinks (gin & tonics, wine, beer, sodas and mineral water) and all activities (including day and night game drives, sundowners and escorted walks). There is also the opportunity to book a Hot Air Balloon Safari. Game drives (shared) are in 4×4 safari vehicles with expert safari guides and you will experience the wilderness without the presence of other tourist vehicles.

Need To Know
For every 2 or 3 night stay, one full day visit into the Masai Mara National Reserve with a picnic lunch is included. On the other days there are morning and evening game drives to explore the exclusive Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancy where a large variety of wildlife can be seen with few other tourist vehicles present, as well as the option of having bush breakfasts, evening sundowners and night drives in the conservancy, which are not possible in the Reserve.

Wildlife
Ol Kinyei Conservancy’s wildlife is exciting and diverse, with all the usual suspects from the Mara plains present here. There is one very large pride of lions in the conservancy as well as other, smaller groups of lions ousted from this and other prides. Local leopards are often seen on game drives as occasionally are aardwolves and wild dogs. According to Porini’s owners, Ol Kinyei is becoming a popular area for females to have their cubs away from the busy areas of the reserve itself. Child rates applicable to children aged 8 to 16 years:
- 1 child sharing with 2 adults – child pays child package price above and the 2 adults each pay the per adult sharing rate.
- 1 child sharing with 1 adult – child pays child package price above and the adult pays the single adult rate.
- 2 or 3 children sharing in own tent – each child pays 75% of the per adult rate.
- Camp not recommended for children aged under 8 years.

The camp contains just six spacious guest tents and has an exclusive yet friendly feel, with each tent containings comfortable furnishings and ensuite facilities (with hot shower and flush toilet)
