Quatermain's 1920's Safari Camp camp is the culmination of two decades of passion and experience in the safari industry. Quatermain's 1920's Safari Camp is an intimate and rustic, 3 Star graded, expedition style tented camp with en-suite bathrooms. Game drives are conducted on the award winning Amakhala Game Reserve.
The ethos behind Quatermain's is to offer guests the opportunity to experience the romance of those early safaris coupled with five star game viewing. Small and intimate, Quatermain's Camp offers the very best that an African safari can; authentic tented accommodation, candlelit dinners, warm fireside company and exciting safari drives.

Due to the rustic nature of the camp there is no electricity or wifi. Towels and hot water bottles (in winter) are provided.

Guests at Quatermain's can enjoy the excitement of "Big 5" safaris on the award winning Amakhala Game Reserve.
Our twice daily 3 to 4 hour Game drives which depart directly from camp, are guided by our experienced rangers.
These safaris give guests the best possible chance to see a variety of wildlife whilst sharing the knowledge that these dedicated guides have built up over the years.
Book for three nights or more at Quatermain's 1920's Safari Camp and have the option of replacing a night in camp with an Overnight trail experience.
Guests can enjoy the opportunity of seeing a myriad of species in one of the most diverse habitats in Southern Africa, both reserve's stand at the merging point of five of South Africa's seven biomes.
The result of this diversity, is a higher than normal carrying capacity for all types of fauna and flora.
Species that one could possibly see on the Amakhala and Shamwari Game reserves during the safari tripsare : Lion, Savannah Elephant, Square-lipped Rhino, Hook-lipped Rhino, Cape Buffalo, Cheetah, Southern Giraffe, Brown Hyena, Aardvark, Aardwolf, Porcupine, Bat-eared Fox, Chacma Baboon and Vervet Monkey.
The reserve is also home to the following antelope species : Common Eland, Greater Kudu, Waterbuck, Red Hartebeest, Blesbok, Black Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Impala, Mountain Reedbuck, Springbok, Common Duiker, Cape Grysbok, Steenbok and Blue Duiker.
