Need To Know
9 comfortable and well-furnished safari tents follow the line of the river, each with a view over the waters and to the plains beyond. The homely and relaxed style of Rekero Camp will embrace you and have you making plans to return before you even leave.
Safaris
Driving, walking, ballooning, cultural visits. Wildlife viewing and bird watching can be experienced in specially adapted vehicles or outside the park on foot. With both, you are in the company of experienced Il Dorobo and Masai guides who can share with you, through their eyes, a world that only they know. This can be a full day in the bush or shorter excursions returning to the calm of camp. The cultural aspect is one of the strongest elements of the experience either in camp or with a visit to one of the villages in which the guides live.
Wildlife
The camp is ideally set up to view the annual wildebeest migration and some of the resident big cats plus a diversity of other wildlife. The area around Rekero has some of Africa’s most famous cats including the stars of the recent Disney movie ‘African Cats’ and much of the activity in Rekero is based around observing these big cats. Also popular are the guided game walks and cultural visits to the local communities.
