All you need to know

Intro

Rio Azul is an intimate, barefoot luxury, beach lodge located 110 kms north of Vilanculos, Mozambique.  The lodge overlooks the tranquil lagoon where flamingos gather in season and makes for spectacular sunsets over the water.  The ocean proper is only a 10 minute walk over the dunes.

Enjoy swimming or snorkeling, sea kayaking, beach walks and picnics, fishing and other motorised water sports or explore the mangrove estuary and the Govuro River in your own private motor boat, or simply sit back and relax at the lodge or pool with a refreshing drink and a good book.

Overlooking the lagoon, Rio Azul offers sumptuous accomodation and breathtaking views from each of the 5 chalets and 2 family villas. 

5 Beach Front Chalets

Each villa contains three double, en-suite rooms accomodating upto 6 adults and a loft with bunk beds accomodating up to 4 children.
- The private deck with plunge pool, deck chairs and dining area, lounge and small kitchenette make this a perfect home away from home for families.

A wonderful spot to vacation all year round.  Rainy season from December to March.  

Birding and fishing opportunities may vary through the year depending on migration patterns.
