Intro

San Camp was re-opened in 2011 after a complete re-build. Since the re-opening San Camp has been listed in: The Robb Report 100 Resorts 2012: Africa & The Middle East; Fodor's 100 Hotel Awards 2012: Trip of a Lifetime; Harper's Bazaar Travel Hot 100 2013.

Highlights

The classic white tents are set amidst by clusters desert palms right on the edge of the otherworldly Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. Intimate and romantic, San Camp offers guests the opportunity to explore this fascinating area.

Need To Know

San's magnificent mess tent contains a small natural history museum and library, and a 'tea tent' replete with cushions and Persian carpets provides a sanctuary from the sun. There are six guest tents: four twin and two double with en-suite bathrooms and spacious verandah. San Camp is open only in the dry season.

Safaris

Driving, walking, quad biking All guides are trained by Ralph Bousfield and most are zoologists or biologists. Guests enjoy a holistic approach to safari comprising ecological, zoological, archaeological and cultural elements.

Wildlife

Habituated meerkat, brown hyenas, zebra, bat-eared fox, kudu, caracal, aardvark, gemsbok, springbok, vulture, eagle, aardwolf, porcupine, honey badger, a large variety of desert birds and animals.
