Intro
Sarova Shaba Game Lodge is located in a natural oasis in the heart of the Shaba Game Reserve. It is set along the bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River laid out around the natural springs that flow into the river.
Highlights
All chalet style rooms and suites at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge have: private balconies with close views of the river and game park, ensuite bathrooms with permanent showers and WC, running hot and cold water, razor outlets with 220 and 240 volts, beds with mosquito nets and duvets, overhead fans, tea and coffee making facilities.The entire lodge is surrounded by a 24-hour double electric fence.
Need To Know
On August 26, 2011, Sarova Shaba Game Lodge became the first game lodge within Shaba, Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves to be connected to the national electricity grid. Sarova Shaba Game Lodge previously ran on a diesel-powered generator.

The Lodge has its own fleet of well-equipped safari vehicles with excellent guides.
Wildlife
Shaba National Reserve has a particular place in the history of Kenyan game conservation, as it was in this reserve that the authoress Joy Adamson died. She was greatly known for her efforts in the rehabilitation of the compliant leopard into a wild environment.Shaba was one of Joy Adamson's greatest African loves; it was in this tranquil wilderness where she released the first hand-raised lions.

Child Policy
Children are welcome at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge. However, parental supervision at all times is a must for younger children below 5 years as the layout of the camp is very natural with water bodies and it is situated along the river bank. There are a number of activities for children such as swimming, walking safaris, nature and bird walks within the secure premises, a visit to the local village, sport fishing and board games. We have specially trained staff who escort the children and facilitate activities for our younger guests. There are special menus for children and baby sitting or child minding services are available on request.

Accommodation options include 85 modern rooms, a presidential suite, 4 executive suites, 10 deluxe and 80 standard rooms. The rooms are chalet style with a private views of the wildlife-rich banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. Each room overlooks the river where the elephants sometimes make an appearance or the crocodiles come out to lounge by the river’s banks.
