Intro
Selinda Explorers Camp design is influences along the lines of the early explorers, with Campaign style furniture and Swahili rugs. It opened in August 2012 on a remote bend of the Selinda Spillway. Located in a previously unexplored area of the vast 320,000 acre Selinda Reserve with spectacular wildlife-viewing.
Highlights
An intimate camp that's sensibly priced, perfect for groups, families and couples wanting privacy. It's a very remote camp in a stunning location on the banks of the Selinda Spillway offering water and land activities. A great combination option with its award-winning sister camp, Zarafa Camp, located 2 hours east in a very different area of the Selinda Reserve.
Need To Know
From June 2014 the camp is open to anyone, i.e. singles and couples travelling, not just exclusive-use groups (as it was). The experience is very much geared to getting back to nature, doing safaris as they were done in yesteryear.
Safaris
Day and night game drives, walking, canoeing*, fishing*, wild-swimming* (*subject to water levels in Selinda Spillway) Prepare yourself for true wilderness.
Wildlife
The Selinda Reserve has the largest concentration of elephant bulls in all Africa, as well as the largest herds of buffalo in Botswana. Wild-dogs are seen often, with a pack denning nearby. Leopards, lions, sable, roan, hippo and prolific birdlife.
