To get as close as possible to the Great Migration is our sole obsession. A million and a half wildebeest and zebra can’t be wrong, and this camp never settles for less. This canvas home-from-home and its indomitable crew are on the move year-in, year-out from one sweet Serengeti site to another, guided by the mass movements of the wildebeest migration and their quest for ever greener grass. Along with it come our highly trained naturalist guides and all the trimmings of a classic safari.

Intro
Highlights
An authentic safari experience under canvas, Serengeti Safari Camp moves 4/5 times a year to be within reach of the migrating herds of wildebeest and accompanying predators. The camp is pioneer-style, with all the comforts you need and nothing that you don't. Very much experience-oriented, the camp offers expert guides to all guests on a shared basis and there is the option of a private vehicle and guide for an additional supplement.
Need To Know
Serengeti Safari Camp is designed to be light enough on its feet to be able to move seasonally with the migration, but we've catered for all your creature comforts. There are comfortable beds, hot safari-style bucket showers and water-conserving eco-flush toilets. This is camping, but not as you know it.
Safaris
Serengeti Safari Camp combines well with Kuro Tarangire and Entamanu Ngorongoro between July and November and with Entamanu Ngorongoro and Lamai Serengeti. It is also possible to connect with our camps in the West (Greystoke Mahale and Chada Katavi) on our twice weekly shared charter flight, or with Ruaha and Selous on regular scheduled flights from Manyara. Please contact us for advice on how to include Serengei Safari Camp in an itinerary.

Accommodation
The Serengeti Safari Camp was one of the first camps to imitate the seasonal migration of the wildebeest migration, moving 4/5 times a year to be in the best possible location to see the herds. We've maintained the original pioneering feel of the camp and you can be assured of a comfortable bed, a hot shower and a flush toilet (we operate on environmentally friendly principles and therefore use eco-flush loos which use very little water).
There's a spacious bedroom and dressing area, with a sink and big jugs of cold water, and hot provided in the morning and evening or whenever you need it. The safari-style bucket shower is en-suite, as is the eco-flush toilet.
Season
Open year round - the camp moves seasonally to be in the best location to view the migration.
December to April: the camp is on the southern Serengeti Plains with access to the main herds as they calve through February. Birding is excellent during this time, as is general game viewing.
May to Early July: Moru Kopjes area, central Serengeti Plains, and Western Corridor.
The migration patterns can be unpredictable at this time of year, but the wildebeest rut (May) and the crossing of the Grumeti River (June/July) are spectacular if caught.
Mid-July to November: northern Serengeti close to either the Mara or Sand Rivers, offering great game viewing and crossings of either of the rivers.
Late November: the camp heads south again, arriving on the southern Serengeti Plains around mid-December.
