Victoria Falls River Lodge is situated in the Zambezi National Park, home to some of Africa’s most fascinating animals.  Elephant, hippo, crocodile, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, sable, kudu, impala, waterbuck, wild dog and the occasional big cat can be viewed in the park (to name but a few).

The Zambezi National Park is also renowned as a bird watchers paradise.  In a comparatively small area around Victoria Falls, birding enthusiasts will be able to view a great diversity of birds within the rain forest, riverine, gorge and savannah habitats.  Local species include Rock Pratincole, Schalow’s Turaco, African Finfoot, Half Collared Kingfisher, Thick Billed Weaver, African Skimmer, Pels Fishing Owl, collared Palm Thrush and Western Banded Snake Eagle (to name but few).

Guests at Victoria Falls River Lodge have the opportunity to access these various areas by game viewer, by boat and on foot.  They seldom have to travel too far from their private decks however, as the lush foliage around Camp offers ample opportunity to enjoy many of the spectacular array of birdlife and game species that Zimbabwe have to offer.
