Intro
Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat is a luxurious ecological oasis at the foothills of the Cederberg Mountains, where abundant wildlife roam free. Located only 270 km from Cape Town, it offers a distinctive wilderness experience against a backdrop of wide open plains, ancient sandstone formations and crystal clear waterfalls. The multi award-winning Relais & Châteaux Lodge is famed for its splendid luxury, generous hospitality, creative cuisine and trademark warm hospitality. Guests are accommodated in 16 comfortable guest rooms and suites, while private villa Koro Lodge offers total exclusivity. The reserve is home to over 150 kinds of birds, 755 plant species and over 35 species of mammals, and is custodian to over 130 ancient Bushman rock art sites in the reserve – some over 10 000 years old. Need To Know
It takes 3 hours to get there from Cape Town. There is a airstrip for those who wish to fly and chauffeur drive road transfers available. The largest collection of well preserved Bushman paintings in South Africa. Springtime - Namaqualand daisies are carpeted throughout the reserve. Privately owned. Member of Relais & Chateaux. Bushmans Kloof is involved in many conservations and community projects - Cape Mountain Leopard, Cape Mountain Zebra, Clanwilliam Cedar Tree, Riel Dancers, Elizabethfontein Primary School, Clanwilliam Yellowfish.
Safaris
The Lodge uses open game viewers which allow guests. 360 degree views from the vehicle. This is not a big five experience. Each nature drive allows you to discover more about our environment and flora and fauna. Walking to the Bushman paintings.
