Highlights
Kwandwe is a conservation victory where today thousands of animals including lion, black and white rhino, buffalo, elephant, leopard and cheetah freely roam its expansive plains. With only 4 small lodges on 22,000 ha/54,000 acres of privately owned land, Kwandwe ensures a high yield/low impact conservation model while at the same time offering guests a private and unforgettable safari experience.
Need To Know
Rooms are airy and open, with barely a barrier between the indoors and the African bush. Wraparound wooden decks with private plunge pools and outdoor showers provide relief from the heat of the day. Super-King sized beds, spacious bathrooms and separate lounge areas feature funky bean bags. Family Suites accommodate 2 adults and 2 children (under 16yrs on day beds in the lounge) and include a private vehicle and ranger.
Safaris
Daily game drives, walks, boating, fishing as well as specialised safari activities and photographic safaris. Day and night game drives, nature walks, boat cruises and additional safari activities with specialised rangers such as big game walks, rhino monitoring and rhino conservation safaris. Maximum six guests on any activity.

Black and white rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, cheetah, black wildebeest, hippo, springbok, giraffe, brown hyena, aardvark, aardwolf, black footed cat, serval, eland, red hartebees and over 300 species of birds in their natural habitat, including river/ water life

Set in thick vegetation overlooking a dense valley, Ecca Lodge offers breathtaking views onto an escarpment of steep shale cliffs. With only 6 suites, of which 3 are dedicated to families, the lodge is intimate, relaxed and trendy, with décor inspired by the vibrant colours and textures of African culture. Highlights of the guest areas include expansive wooden viewing decks, an open interactive kitchen and a rim-flow lap pool.

Season
Game viewing is excellent all year round. The warmest months are September to April. From May to August it is cooler. In winter there is a winter schedule to take the colder mornings and evenings into consideration - they also have all-in-one duvet jackets!
