Intro
Opened in May 2014 the the Zarafa Dhow Suites, under canvas is one of the largest tents ever built in Africa, with a floor space of 210 square metres (2,260 sq. feet). It has its own private vehicle, safari guide, chef, manager, and entrance to the camp.
Highlights
Fashioned of the same sentiment as Zarafa’s main camp, the Dhow Suites are the ultimate private retreat in northern Botswana, located on the fringes of Zibadianja Lagoon in Botswana's 320,000 acre Selinda Reserve. Operating entirely exclusively and catering to just four adults, or five if the group includes a child, the Suites are hosted separately from main camp with private chef and staff.
Need To Know
Dhow Suites at Zarafa Camp has two main bedrooms, a central living and dining area, it’s own pool and fireplace. Guests staying in the dhow suites are secluded from the main camp so privacy is ensured. It is being booked by some of the most discerning travellers in the world who want to experience the bush as a private group or family, and know that there will be no sudden instagram images or media appearing. Time and private moments are invaluable and Great Plains Conservation management respects that.
Safaris
Driving, walking, canoeing, boating, fishing. Early morning and late afternoon/early evening 4x4 open vehicle game drives, guided wildlife bush walks, canoeing and boating on Zibadianja Lagoon on HES ZIB when water levels permit.
Wildlife
There are over eight thousand elephant in the reserve with impressive pods of hippo, crocodiles and bird life. Wild dog have dens near the camp. Lions, cheetah and leopard are regularly sighted.
